The Everest Base Camp trek begins with an exciting mountain flight to Lukla airfield. We then begin our trek through Sherpa village, a long gurgling river and across high suspension bridges, meeting zobkyo (family of yak) caravan on the way. Entering the Sagarmatha National Park we arrive at Namche Bazaar. For your better acclimatization, one more day rest in this place but day time trek to Syangboche, Khumjung and surround to thamo and back, click best Everest view from there and down to Namche for your nightstop. We continue on to the Tyangboche monastery within the imposing peak of Thamserku looming over the trail. You would have the best views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam and more mountain in this trek.

This trek leading to Everest region is one of the busiest route in Nepal. We fly to Lukla and ascend the Dudh Kosi valley to the Sherpa settlement of Namche Bazaar. A day's walk through lovely forests to the famous Buddhist monastery of Thyangboche is rewarded with views of Everest rising behind the Lhotse / Nuptse wall and the stunning peak of Ama Dablam. The peaceful village of Khumjung provides a glimpse of traditional Sherpa life. This region known as the Solu Khumbu is known around the world as the famous home of the world's highest mountain. Mt. Everest or Sagarmatha as the Nepalese call it rises 8,848 meters into the sky.

The hike to the base camp attracts trekkers from all over the Globe. This treks start and end in the closest airstrip to Everest in the town of Lukla. The air grows thinner above Namche Bazzar and the vegetation more sparse as the towering peaks of Himalayas If you are looking for a much longer trek in this region we can start treks in the town of Jiri which is 5 days away from Lukla.

Day 01 - KATHMANDU (Arrival day)

Day 02 - KATHMANDU (Sightseeing day)

Sightseeing tours of Kathmandu including Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath.
Pashupatinath Temple is One of the most sacred Hindu shrine in the world. The two storied pagoda houses a sacred lignum or the phallic symbol of Lord Shiva. Although the temple dates back to the 4th century, it was brought into its present shape in the early 18th century. The temple is most noted for its gold-plated roofs and silver-coated doors.
Bouddhanath Stupa is  the world's largest stupa of its kind. The unique aspect of this great Buddhist monument is that it is set in the octagonal mandala design.
After your blessingful tour, you have to final prepare your trekking equipment for Everest Base camp trek.


An early morning flight takes us from Kathmandu airport  to Lukla Tenzing-Hillary Airport at 2804 meters after 35 minutes scenic flight. Lukla is the hub airport to Khumbu which renamed Tenzing-Hillary Airport too. On arrival at the airport guide will brief you and introduce our porters before we begin our trek towards Phakding at 2610 meters.


After your breakfast at Phakding, crossing the suspension bridge over the Dudh-Kosi the walk is pleasant with few short uphill and downhill and re-crossing the same river again, with magnificent view of Thamserku (6608m), from the village of Benkar, cross the long suspension bridge over the Bhote-Koshi river, after the bridge on this busy trail of trekkers and Jhopkyo (Crossed Yak/ox) and porters, finally reaching at a small village of Monjo after the last 20 minutes climb from the stream. Monjo is situated below the magnificent peak of Thamserku and near the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park.
After few minutes walk from Monjo, comes to the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park. From here a short descend and a gradual walk brings to the suspension bridge over the Bhote-Koshi river, after the bridge Jorsalle village is reached, the last village before Namche Bazaar is reached, from here the walk is along the winding uphill path all the way to Namche, with magnificent view of Kwangde peak and it other sister peaks towards east, with Kusum kangru on the back as you climb higher, view of Mt. Everest- Nuptse wall, Lhotse and the closer view of Taweche peak can be seen all the way up to Thop Danda, where there's a resting stone wall for the porters and trekkers few years ago a teahouse existed here, from here another 1-2 hour walk up brings to the famed Namche, the colourful houses are situated in an amphitheatre U shaped bowl.
Namche Bazaar (3441m) known as the capital of Khumbu and the Gateway to Everest which is home to many good hotels and lodges here, along the whole Everest trail this is quite a big village.

Day 05 - NAMCHE BAZZAR (3441 m)

We will spend a day here in Namche Bazzar (3441 meters) order to acclimatize and adjust to the thinning of the air. Suggested activities a short walk uphill to the Sagarmatha National Park Headquarter, a magnificent spot perched on top of Namche Bazaar with breathtaking view of the surrounding snow capped giants and the valleys way down, As well as a short trek where a museum is celebrating the traditional customs of the Sherpa people.
Today we hike up the Syangboche Airport around Everest View Hotel. From this point, we can see rewarding views of the Himalayas with a stunning sunrise and sunset over the panorama of Khumbu peaks.


Trek to Tyangboche monastery an altitude of 3860 meters today. The walk is fairly easy for the first half, after a 20 minutes climb to the top ridge of Namche Bazaar. Once at the top near the park museum the walk follows on the gradual trail with few short up and downs overlooking magnificent view of the great giant snow peaks from Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kwangde-ri peak after a pleasant walk of two hours coming to a small place at Shanasa.
On this area there is more chances of seeing the beautiful colourful Danphe pheasant (Impeyan Pheasant) National bird of Nepal and the elusive musk deer, and sometime even herd of Himalayan Thar (mountain goat like large antelope) from Shanasa with short up and downhill, the trial descend to Imjatse river at Phunkitenga (3250m), a small settlement with couple of teahouses in the midst of the alpine woods of mostly silver fir blue pines, rhododendron and some few magnolia and birch trees. The walk from here is strenuous for nearly two hours on the winding trail through the shade of woods with great view of Thamserku and Kantega.The finally reaching at Tyangboche one of the most beautiful place in the Himalaya beneath the majestic peak Ama Dablam with Everest looming above the Nuptse wall in the north with Mt. Lhotse and Lhotse Shar towards north east and more peaks all around you.
On reaching Tyangboche our guide will tell you about the local monastery situated here. The group will be taken to observe a prayer ceremony either in the evening or morning depending on how the days trekking went.

Day 07 - TYANGBOHE > DINGBOCHE (4350 m)

From Tyangboche taking our time so we avoid getting affected by the thinning of the air , the trail descend through a forest of birch, fir, juniper and rhododendron and coming to lovely spot at Deboche (3650m) with magnificent view of Ama Dablam, Mt. Everest, Nuptse and Lhotse. From Deboche walking past the long prayer mani wall, the path is gradual till you reach a small bridge over the narrow gorge of Imja-Tse river. From here the walk is gradual uphill most of the way, as you come to a large mani wall gate, a little further from here the route diverts into two ways, the upper one going to the upper Pangboche village, where the old Monastery is located, the gradual low route is the straight forward main trail to Dingboche (4350 meters).
Taking the lower path with a short climb to Shomare for lunch a small settlement with fantastic close-up view of Ama Dablam, journey continues gradually towards east, after an hour walk, before a small wooden bridge the road beneath towering north face of Ama Dablam looks completely different, from the bridge the trails climbs slowly winding above the Imjatse river, till a big mani Stupa is reached, the walk is fairly moderate as you enter the Imjatse Valley beneath the mighty peaks of Ama Dablam, Nuptse and Lhotse with view of the eastern snow capped mountains including the Island peak (Imja Tse 6189m), which is a popular peak amongst all the trekking peaks in Nepal. Dingboche (4350 meters) is a beautiful patchwork of field enclosed by stone walls, protecting the crops of barley, buckwheat and potatoes from the cold winds and grazing animals.

Day 08 - DINGBOCHE (4350 m)

Today is acclimatization day at Dingboche (4350m). There are some breathtaking views of the North face of Ama Dablam and the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge as you explore this beautiful valley that leads up to Island Peak. The walk is short with a good chance to relax in the afternoon. You will have another better alternate hike up trip to Chhukung (4710 meters) valley, you can enjoy the panoramic views of Island peak, Ama Dablaml, Makalu, Tawoche peak and others,  then return to Dingboche in the evening.

Day 09 - DINGBOCHE > LOBUCHE (4910 m)

We continue trek to the wide valley beneath the impressive peaks of Chola tse and Tawache on the left. We then turn right and take a steep climb towards the foot of the Khumbu Glacier to Dugla. The trail leads us zigzags through the boulders of the glacier's terminal moraine. At the top of this climb there are many stone cairns, built as memorials to the many Sherpas who have died while climbing Mt Everest. The path we continue to climb as we are heading to the altitude of 4910 meters in Lobuche, where from you will see your targeted Peak Mt. Pumori very well.
Some breathing problems may arise today due to the altitude. Rest after some trekking and drinking of plenty of water would be better. Chocolates or Snickers would be friendly.

Day 10 - LOBUCHE > EVEREST BASECAMP (5365 m) > GORAKSHEP (5180 m)

Leaving Loubuche early in the morning, we head up to Everest Base camp (5365 meters), and return to Ghorakshep at elevation of 5180 meters at noon for our overnight stay. It would takes about 7 hours. Gorakshep is the location of the original Everest Base Camp with a new camp being further up the valley. Tthe trail winds through a rocky path and the Khumbu glacier. The view of Nuptse, Lho-La and Khumbutse appears at the front of you.

Day 11 - GORAKSHEP > KALAPATTAR (5545 m) > PHERICHE (4240 m)

After reaching Base camp of Everest our aim today is early morning climb to Kalapattar (5545 meters) the highest point of our trek.
Top of Kalapatthar a small rocky peak on the southwest ridge of Mt. Pumori, the view from here is beyond imagination as the Mount Everest looks within a stone throw distance, between the summit of Nuptse and Lho-la and Lhotse on the back, with all the higher snow capped giants that surrounds a panoramic view of Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingtren, Mt. Khumbetse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku along with many other peaks.
It is truly a magnificent spot to be here on a clear sunny day to view an array of mountains up to the far horizon, to the south Khumbu glacier sweeps below you, and you can also see the Everest Base camp down below on the moraine of Khumbu glacier, after a great moment with the panoramic view we then descend to Gorakshep and trek down to Pheriche at elevation of 4240 meters.

Day 12 - PHERICHE > TYANGBOHE (3860 m)

Trek from Pheriche comfortable descent passing through rhododendron forest to Tyangboche (386om),  takes approximately 4 hours. Enjoy your visit inside to Tyangboche Monastery and enjoy your afternoon with splendid views of Ama Dablam, lush green hills and river views.


The walk from Tyangboche is mostly downhill on the main busy trail with a few steep climbs for an hour from the bridge at Phungitenga, near to Shanasha. The walk to Namche is very scenic on a long winding path.
Enroute you will see traditional villages of Khumjung and Khunde. There is an opportunity to visit one of its monastery, the only monastery that has a Yeti Scalp. From Khumjung village another 30 minutes walk brings you to the village of Khunde, where you can visit the Khunde Hospital funded by Sir Edmund Hillary Trust. After Khunde, a scenic and pleasant walk brings you to Namche for the overnight.

Day 14 - NAMCHE BAZZAR > LUKLA (2804 m)

Today is the last day of your great trek, the trekking is pleasant, will be one of the good walk to Lukla, you can walk at your own best pace, leisurely and enjoying the lush green scenery around. Apart fromfew short uphill climbs and then down to the Bhote-Koshi River crossing it three times and the only long climb will be just before Lukla which will take approximately 45 minutes from a place called Choplung or from the old big oak tree. On reaching Lukla, Enjoy time to reflect on the trek as a group and the personal achievement of all those who took part. Prepare for the last day great dinner and a party with the fellow Sherpa crew, porters and trekking members.

Day 15 - LUKLA > KATHMANDU (Flight back)

The flight time to Kathmandu are schedule for normally for morning, sometime the flight time can be delayed due to bad weather and other reason, depending upon the flight time make way to the terminal for security check.
This scenic flight from Lukla takes about 35 minutes to Kathmandu, a scenic view of the snow capped peaks can be seen from window of the plane. Arrive Kathmandu domestic terminal and drive to your Hotel.

Day 16 - KATHMANDU (Departure day)

After your complete trek, transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your final flight departure. Our Airport Representative will take you to the Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport - TIA for your flight departure.
