The eight-day trekking tour starts at Syabrubesi and passes through Goljung, Gatlang, Chilime, Tatopani, Rasuwagadhi and Briddim before returning to Syabrubesi.

The Langtang region, a combination of natural beauty, historical and cultural heritage, Tamang and ethnic Tibetan cultures, which completely different than Everest and Annapurna region, lies in the northern Himalayan range of Nepal.

Tamang rituals, Tibetan culture, festivals, traditional architecture, costumes and local Shyabru dances make this trail a unique experience. A tourist gets an opportunity to observe Shyabru, Mane and other local dances at Goljung and Gatlang villages. The villages sell charming handicraft like traditional caps, mufflers and other items.

In the cold climate of Rasuwa, tourists will also enjoy a dip in the healing hot water springs at Tatopani. Tatopani is on the way to Nagthali, where camping is a unique experience. At Thuman, monasteries and houses adorned with rich wood engravings offer views of the artistic heritage of the area. Briddim village comes next, where home stay is available at 24 houses.

A home stay at Briddim is a unique experience. The houses here offer accommodation and food to tourists on a rotational basis. Each host family provides clean beds, toilet and a family dining room. Trekking gear is also available for those interested in trekking to nearby Gotheghang and Pangsang.

The visitor enjoys the evening with the host family, living with them, eating traditional food and sleeping on their clean beds. The local menu consists of plain rice, Tibetan bread, syakpa (Sherpa stew), potato, Tibetan tea and Briddim wine.

Visitors can also observe local indoor rituals and cultural practices with the host family and go on village walks to see the lifestyle and traditions of the people. In the evening, the locals gather in their traditional costumes to perform cultural songs and dances in honor of the visitors. The host family shows the visitors around, explaining the special features of the village and showing the live craftsmanship.

This trip explores the rich culture, history and nature of the central region of Nepal in the Himalayan scenery. Trek on the Tamang Heritage Trail, an ancient trading route of the Nepalese and Tibetans in the region of Langtang, Rasuwa. The Tamang Heritage Trail was revived and developed under the Tourism for Rural Poverty Alleviation Program (TRPAP) managed by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to distribute equal tourism opportunities among poor rural communities living in that region. Every tourist dollar that is spent here will contribute directly to the local livelihood, women's empowerment and environmental conservations.

Tourism for Rural Poverty Alleviation Program (TRPAP) has developed these trekking trails, campsites with drinking water, toilet, kitchen and waste disposal system. Attraction boards and information signs have been placed for the benefit of the visitors. The local people have been provided skill enhancement training such as lodge management, cooking and baking and vegetable and fruit production. TRPAP has the objective of helping to reduce poverty in the area by creating a tourism environment and promoting facilities in order to attract tourists.

Briddim is a Tibetan Buddhist village in the bosom of Langtang Himal. It is located at an elevation of 2,229 m. There are around 43 houses in the village spread in a Z shape. Most of them are made of stone and have roofs of slate. The local inhabitants are Tamangs who are largely influenced by Tibetan culture. It is a live museum reflecting their traditional culture and lifestyle.

The main means of livelihood for the villagers is livestock production, agriculture and trade with Kerung (Tibet). There are many festivals and everyday rituals that can be experienced in Briddim. Shyabru Dance and Mane Dance are the common Tamang dances. The major festivals celebrated in the village are Dawa Dangbo Chhiju (in February), Chuwa Chhiju (November), Yarsang (early June), Dukpa Chhiju (August) and Lhosar (February). Women and lamas at the gombas (monasteries) perform Mane Peme daily.

The valley of Langtang is protected as the Langtang National Park. It is a narrow valley that lies just north of Kathmandu. A visit to the Langtang valley offers an opportunity to explore Tamang villages to climb small peaks and to visit glaciers at a comfortably low elevation. The sacred lake of Gosainkunda is one of the main attractions here. Thousands of Hindu and Buddhist Pilgrims visit the lakes during a full moon festival in August. Crossing the holy Gosainkunda Lake is another way of reaching Helambu from Langtang, while remaining at reasonable altitudes.
